Sonoma – Tokaj Sister City Committee Presents

Nov. 7 Fundraising Event:  “An Evening in Tokaj”

The Sonoma – Tokaj Sister City Committee has been exercising Citizen Diplomacy since it was founded in 2012 — in a successful effort to bring these two wine-centric cities together in friendship, and shared desire to help wine students in both places.

Tokaj is one of the great wine cities in the world, a famous cultural destination much like Sonoma in size and climate. With the help of Sonoma’s counterpart: the Tokaj – Sonoma Association, wine students from Tokaj have come to work here in Sonoma, and Sonoma wine students have traveled to Tokaj and had remarkable experiences working in top wineries. To make all this possible, a fundraising event is held every two years. Burlingame Hall at 252 W. Spain Street is the venue for:  “An Evening in Tokaj” at 6pm on November 7th.

There will be a traditional Hungarian dinner paired with wines from Sonoma and Tokaj, live music, a raffle, live auction, and a traditional Hungarian folk dancing performance by Eszterlánc Folk Ensemble.

Menu:

Passed hors d’oeuvres: Pogácsa – small cheese biscuits and Sós Rudacskák/Salt & caraway sticks
