SSCA Committee Relationships

A Sister City relationship is typically formed between two cities because of shared demographics, town size, business connections, travel, similar industries, or a shared history.  A local citizen in one community with an interest in another community abroad creates an official long-term partnership by working with the officials of both cities to sign an agreement to establish a Sister City relationship.  A Sister City Committee is formed by a volunteer Chairperson.  Committee volunteers create and promote programs, exchanges and tourism within our sister city communities, opening doors to meaningful lifelong friendships that promote mutual respect, cultural understanding and mutual cooperation.

Sonoma Sister Cities Association (SSCA) strives to cultivate successful relationships of a global nature among the youth, adults and businesses of Sonoma Valley through cultural, educational, and social events, along with leadership programs which emphasize reaching out to potential partners and beneficiaries within our sister city communities.

SSCA programs are supported by local volunteers and city officials and foster long-term relationships with cities abroad, opening the doors to meaningful and lasting global friendships and connections which promotes mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.

Sonoma Sister Cities Association (SSCA), is a registered nonprofit 501(c)3 organization operating under federal tax identification #68-0108056.
