For Global Peace Through People
SSCA thrives with of sponsor donations. We are a non-profit association, operating under the auspices of the City of Sonoma, but receive no financial resources from the city. All of our financial resources come from donations, special gifts and bequests, and fund raisers. Your kind philanthropy is critical to our cause and role as the official face of Sonoma to the world community, taking Sonoma delegations to our sister cities and hosting their official delegations coming to Sonoma. These delegations and other activities such as student exchanges, the SSCA Language Scholarship Program, trade exchanges, winery internships, youth pen-pal programs, cross cultural art exhibits, and international holiday celebrations all combine to enhance tourism with economic benefit to Sonoma businesses. At a time when global mistrust among nations and people is at a historic low, our work in managing diverse partnerships and building trust between everyday citizens is more important than ever. We ask for your support so that we can continue to have an impact on global peace and through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation. With your help, we can continue to fulfill our mission and the founding vision of President Dwight D. Eisenhower to foster a hub of prosperity and peace through relationships at the community level in different cities around the world.
Your generous donations to SSCA, small and large, enable SSCA to deliver results as a vital part of our Sonoma community, creating a path and strengthening partnerships between cities around the world Donors may specify or restrict use of their donations to a particular project or purpose or give unrestricted donations for any purpose. Unrestricted gifts made to SSCA enable us to meet immediate needs, fund crucial activities ranging from educational programs and exchanges to humanitarian projects that don’t fall into specific categories. Unrestricted funds help us build a secure funding resource for advancing our mission into the future. Restricted funds are appreciated for a specific purpose such as constructing and maintaining The Ting in Depot Park (see The Ting/Chinese Legacy Project on our home page). TING LINK, fostering wine internships (Tokaj link) or wine country tourism (Greve link).
