SSCA continues its tradition of awarding scholarships to interested graduating seniors who demonstrate not only academic excellence but a demonstrable interest in the mission of SSCA/SCI or similar missions of other local nonprofits.

Here are this year’s winners:

Jose Herrera – $1000.  Not only did Jose maintain a 4.0 grade average, he volunteered much of his free time to support La Luz.  Besides many volunteer works, Jose is also an activist, especially within the LGBTQ Community.  He’ll be attending Santa Rosa Junior College this fall.

Sofia Vitale – $500. Sofia has been a long-time volunteer for SSCA with a keen interest in environmental issues.   She will be attending California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.

Thank you to all who donated to the Scholarship fund, including the Sonoma-Tokaj Sister City Committee, SSCA President George McKale, along with board members Gigi Pfleger and Jack Ding.
