Never heard of Furmint? It is the principal grape responsible for the legendary sweet wines of Tokaj, Hungary, wines that graced the tables of the Russian Tzars, of the Hapsburg Royalty, the Kings of France, and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. Tokaj produces stunning dry wines from Furmint too, and they are finally starting to get much deserved international acclaim. On Friday, April 22nd, from 5-8 pm, Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant will be pouring 9 Dry Furmints from Hungary, and 3 producers will be in attendance to answer all your questions. The cost of the tasting is a mere $7.00, and you don’t want to miss it. For an additional fee of $10 we will have on hand 3 of the legendary sweet Tokajis to taste, a Szamarodni, a 5 Puttonyos and a 6 Puttonyos. Join us for this amazing tasting experience.
