Sonoma Sister Cities Association (SSCA) would like to thank everyone who helped, donated, or enjoyed the annual Holiday Party which was held on December1st at Vintage House.  In addition to the incredible selection of ethnic holiday appetizers, which each of the seven City Committees prepared and served, this year’s event was also a fund raiser for Cheri Burgi, who lost her Glen Ellen home to the October firestorm.  Cheri has been the nonprofit organization’s accountant and she joins this month the Board as the new Treasurer.

After the event, George McKale, 2018 President–elect announced that SSCA received $4,835.00 in donations to help Cheri, and that she would receive the money by the end of December, which she did.

Outgoing President Farrel Beddome was delighted that so many people were willing and able to help Cheri.  “I am thrilled to get the report of donations at our holiday party for Cheri.  It reflects a community with a generous heart and I hope it gives Cheri a lift in spirit for the holidays and beyond. Changing lives by touching others is such a life changing, personal experience.  That’s what SSCA is all about on a human level.”

This year’s event had the largest turnout ever and for the first time featured a raffle, a wine-pull, and an outstanding Egyptian belly dance performance by Lily Goessling, a local Sonoma artist and fitness instructor.

Many thanks to this year’s sponsors and donors:  Buena Vista Winery, Cline Vineyards, and Bright Event Rentals.
