The Sonoma-Penglai Sister City Committee is continuing to make progress toward the goal of building a ting (Chinese-style pavilion) in Depot Park, commemorating the work done in the 1800’s by Chinese laborers to dig caves and plant vines and make Sonoma Valley and other California wine producing areas a world-class viticulture region. Our Committee is continuing to work with the City of Sonoma and the City Council to resolve all remains issues and hopes a final building permit will be approved in the near future, allowing us to break ground.
