It is a pleasure to invite you to a lecture by His Excellency Ambassador (Ret.) Abderahman Salaheldin. Uniquely experienced, he will speak and answer questions on the topic: Egypt’s Foreign Policy Challenges: Turkey, Libya, & Ethiopia. Included will be remarks on the relationship with the U.S. as well as an update on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on the Giza Plateau.

Ambassador Salaheldin concluded his diplomatic career two years ago. Previously he was Ambassador to Turkey (2010-2013) which will figure considerably in his lecture. He served with ambassadorial rank for four years as Consul General in San Francisco. Other experience included as Assistant Egyptian Foreign Minister for Middle Eastern & Arab Affairs.

Last year, Salahedin published a memoir (in Arabic) of his post in Turkey: “Kont Safiran Lada Al-Sultan (I was an ambassador to the Sultan).”. The book, over 300 pages long, is the story of Egyptian-Turkish relations from his notes and recollections
