Chamson, a member of Sonoma Sister Cites Association, is now accepting applications for the 2017 Henry and Ivy Cardinaux Scholarship award. The value of this award is $2000. Applications can be found by clicking here.
This scholarship, now it its fifteenth award year, was established to help a deserving applicant experience French culture in conjunction with the pursuit of an academic or business-related endeavor that involves travel to France for an essential immersive insight within the 2017-2018 timeframe. Please note that the Scholarship is intended to supplement an applicant’s pre-existing plan of action. For more about the history and meaning of the award, please click here.
Once online applications have been reviewed, competitive applicants will be selected for an in-person interview to 1) assess proficiency in the French language and 2) gain a better understanding of the applicant’s project or business endeavor.
The complete application must be submitted by email to bonjour@sonomasistercitiesassociation.org by midnight on April 22nd 2017. The Scholarship Committee anticipates making the award by May 22nd , 2017 and will notify the recipient by email. Once the recipient is selected, the Scholarship Committee will work out the final details of providing the award to the recipient. As a condition of accepting the award, the recipient will be expected to brief the Sonoma Sister Cities Association about the experience within six months of return during a public presentation that the Chamson committee will help arrange.
