(From Mexico News Daily/2 Sept 25) Lake Patzcuaro, which is about 15 miles from our sister city Patzcuaro, is the only home to the achoque, a critically endangered salamander which is a cousin to the more well-known salamander, the axolotl. Click here to read more.

Like Sonoma, our sister city Kaniv held an international film festival from 2016 through 2021. We look forward to the day it returns and perhaps Sonoma and Kaniv can work on a film project together.

Actually, both terms refer to the same city. Located on the Greve river, the city of Greve in Tuscany amended its name to Greve in Chianti in 1972 to enhance its association an importance
