SONOMA, CA – October 9 2015

Bocce Sonoma closed out the 2015 season with an amazing tournament and a record number of players/members. The 2015 season encompassed thirteen leagues and over 400 players, and the tournament was held on September 18 – 20. This season was especially memorable because of the new courts that were donated by Nancy Dito, a long time player and patron. This season also showcased the craftsmanship of Larry Schofield, who crafted the new green and red scoreboards that flank the far end of each of the four courts. The scoreboards radiate the traditional colors of red and green and are easy to read from a distance
The winning team of the 2015 tournament was the Thursday PM team, led to victory by Captain Ray Calabrese. Second place went to the Sunday PM team, led by Bocce Sonoma Chairperson John Fanucchi. The Friday PM team took third place and the Wednesday AM team took fourth place out of the 15 total teams competing.
Current league play continues through November 7 of this year, which means you can still catch the action at the Bocce courts in Depot Park. The next Bocce Sonoma season starts up in April 2016.
