Tokaj Vintner’s Premier Furmint Wines in Sonoma
The Sonoma-Tokaj Committee, part of the Sonoma Sister Cities Association, sponsored a tasting event in which 12 wineries of the Tokaj region in Hungary showcased the white wine grape known as Furmint.
The event was held at the Sonoma Community Center and unfolded as two parts. During the first hour, invited guests were guided by the chief winemaker from Tokaj through a series of 4 flights of Furmint wines. The second hour was then opened to the general public. The Committee provided a selection of delicious Hungarian appetizers to go with the wines. There were easily over one hundred people in attendance, and the event was a great success.
