Patrick Garcia, chairperson of the Sonoma-Patzcuaro Sister City Committee, announced that the Committee successfully facilitated the donation of a 1987 fire truck from the City of Sonoma to the town of Ecuandureo, State of Michoacan, Mexico. According to Mr. Garcia, “The Committee is honored to help bring much-needed fire protection hardware to that area of Michoacan. I was glad to be included in the discussion and planning of what to do with this truck.”
Ecuanduereo is located 104 miles northwest of Patzcuaro with an population of 13,000 people, slightly larger than the City of Sonoma.
