Today, January 28, 2020, at the beginning of the Year of the Rat, the Penglai Committee has received from the City of Sonoma, the building permit for the Ting. The pavilion (Ting in Mandarin) will honor the Chinese laborers in the 1800’s who contributed much to the start of our local wine industry. This big step is thanks to the commitment, hard work, time and money contributed by the Sonoma-Penglai Committee, the SSCA, the City of Sonoma and all the donors and supporters from, literally, around the world.
