Sonoma – June, 2017
For the first time, in the fall of 2013, the Sonoma-Tokaj Sister City Committee hosted a viticulture student from Tokaj who worked at Buena Vista Winery for three months during the crush. The program was such a success we wanted to continue the exchange. In the fall of 2014, the Committee partnered with Santa Rosa Junior College to sponsor two wine studies students for a five-week study tour of the numerous wine regions of Hungary. Again in 2015 we hosted an intern from Tokaj and then sent an intern from Sonoma to Tokaj in 2016. This program is a great experience for the interns, both to enhance their career opportunities as future wine makers, and to expose them to different cultures.
