Greetings from The Mayor of Kaniv, Ukraine

(Editor’s Note:  Kaeti Bailey, SSCA’s new Kaniv Committee Chair, received the following email from Mayor Renkas, and asked me to pass this along.  Your continued support of SSCA and our Sister City Kaniv is greatly appreciated.)

Dear Sonoma residents and all American people,

On behalf of the City of Kaniv, we wish you, all Sonoma residents, and all Americans, a happy, safe and healthy Fourth of July!

The challenges we have faced this year have caused many of us to pause and reflect on what is truly important: family, faith, community, and peace. Let this be a time of coming together and celebrating all that we hold dear. We truly cherish our friendship between Sonoma and Kaniv, USA and Ukraine.

Any celebration of the USA’s independence would not be possible without the brave men and women in uniform who continue to make USA freedom possible. To them and to their families, we say a heartfelt thank you for their service.

Wishing you a peaceful and blessed Independence Day.
